Between 2004 and 2007, I noticed an increase in rough campgrounds around the Paris ring road. Bulgarian, Hungarian, Polish, but also French, English, all forced to live in the Hell of a shelter created by our urban divide.

Here we find bubbles of secret lives, a parallel world, suspended out of time, where fates are combined: hidden communities, their intimate lives protected by simple screens.

These unlikely urban islands, witnesses of atypical and alternative paths, illustrate the huge social gaps in the city.

In these scarred folds, men try to build hope, and seek a reconstrution allowing themselves to preserve their humanity.
